Before I break out my jigsaw, metal break, and aluminum..........
I thought I'd check with you guys for a better idea.

What are you guys using to mount your EFI / OEM Square Ignition Coil?
I looked at the original bracket, but it's pretty specific to the original location and would not mount flat without modifying.
Does anyone sell a simple mount?

looking for ideas. Thanks

Direct

I screwed mine straight on to the square tube around the hood opening. Looks clean, works fine. No special brackets.

Not a great shot of it, but if you look on the other side of the AC compressor, you can see the square tube where mine is mounted.

I can get a better picture if you need it.

Forte's EFI coil bracket

Hi,
The coil bracket I make mounts the coil just in front of the distributor. It then uses a 12 inch coil wire. Nice & clean and a short wire which is a real benefit.

Whitby Motorcars - Coil mounting bracket

Whitby Motorcars sells a nice aluminum Coil bracket that I have used. Good quality.

Mallory sells an EFI coil that comes with it's own mounting bracket. Mine is mounted as per this pic:

canuck1, do you happen to have the part number?
The Mallory that I looked at on Summit, said no bracket included.

If you want to keep things clean, mount it to one of the heads. These type of coils aren't subject to vibration issues and a bit of standoff with a plate makes heat a non-issue.

Another moment of weakness (dammit, you guys are always waving the cool parts in front of me and I'm biting every time! :001_smile:)

That thing will look good on my DS F-Panel! A couple riv-nuts and buttonhead stainless steel bolts and I'm as good as done! :001_tongue:

I threw away the mounting bracket off my stock coil, cut a hole in a piece of aluminum, polished it and mounted the coil and the brake reservoirs to it. I then mounted the whole thing to the 3/4 tube. It's not a great picture but you can see it.
